Special Bobby Abrahamson Workshop For Photographers Forum Members

Local photographer, Bobby Abrahamson, is offering a Zoom-based workshop exclusively for Portland Photographers’ Forum members! The experience runs May 12, 19, 26, and June 2, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Here’s the class description:

“By completing a series of unusual and provocative weekly assignments, this class will force you to challenge your boundaries and break out of your artistic comfort zone. You will be asked to produce photographs you never imagined would come from your camera or phone – and you will discover that a good photograph doesn't have to be pretty.”

If the goal is to help you make portfolio-worthy images that speak from your heart and expand your photographic horizons. Then this class is for you!

Possible concepts and techniques to be considered:

  • How does combining text, audio and/or other mediums with a photograph change or enhance its meaning?

  • Conceptual and Postmodern goals and processes for creating photographic artwork

  • How does using non-traditional image captures technology such as scanners, copy machines, webcams, surveillance cameras & screen captures instill unique meaning/significance to the resulting imagery?

  • How can staged or heavily manipulated imagery be used to portray a powerful “truth” about a subject or topic?

All experience levels and camera types (including phones) are welcome. You should already know how to use your camera, upload digital files, and share links to your images online. Each assignment should be complete prior to the weekly meeting. When you register you will be given the first assignment to complete for the first class.

Special PPF members only workshop fee: $200. Register now using PayPal (does not require you to be a PayPal member.)

BTW—Bobby Abrahamson will be our featured guest speaker in October!
