Spend the day working in a beautiful daylight studio with photographer Ray Bidegain. During this 4 hour workshop we will explore making portraits in natural light that transcend beyond the identity of the model to make meaningful works of art. We will embrace beauty every step of the way and well seen photographs will be our goal.
Both Film and digital photographers are welcome to shoot in the medium they prefer.
This course will be held in a large natural light studio on the 4th floor at 439 SE Grand Ave. above “What’s New? Furniture.” The entrance is a brown door up a small flight of stairs on Stark street between MLK and Grand ave. There will be someone there to help direct you.
Please note: this course will be held in a studio on the 4th floor, accessible only by stairs. There is no elevator access. Please keep mobility concerns in mind before signing up for this course.
There will be 2 sessions for the day with 2 different models to work with. This class is limited to 6 students to be sure everyone has time to make the work that is in their hearts.
Topics for the day will include:
pose and gesture
concept and ideas
working with models, amateur and professional
finding models to work with and space to rent for projects
A critique session will be scheduled in the weeks following the session for anyone who would like feedback on the work they have made.
