Featured speaker: Katharine T Jacobs
Katharine T. Jacobs is a large format film photographer working in silver gelatin and alternative processes. Her work is conceptual and deals with femininity, chronic illness and living with a disability. She uses the human form to communicate emotions and sensations that are deeply personal while also trying to create beautiful images that viewers can appreciate on both an aesthetic and visceral level.
If you'd like to present your photos
Please be prepared with 3 to 5 prints or digital images to share with the membership. Be ready to explore your reasons for making the art, what makes it special to you, what you would like us to experience, etc. Each member presentation will be timed to get into the flow. You can expect about 10 minutes to share. We will have time for about 3-4 members to present before our speaker.
Please make your intention to present known to Day Tooley and if you are using digital images, please send them to Day for formatting. Day will need a few days to format, so please don’t send them at the last minute:
Our monthly meetings feature a guest speaker, usually an accomplished photographer from the Portland/Vancouver area. Members also share and talk about new work, ideas, techniques, equipment, places to go and ways to work.
Monthly meetings are open to all, non-members are very welcome to attend.
